Look up at the sky! Look at the earth below! For the sky will dissipate ¹  like smoke, and the earth will wear out like clothes; its residents will die like gnats. But the deliverance I give ²  is permanent; the vindication I provide ³  will not disappear. ⁴ 

My days ¹  are swifter ²  than a weaver’s shuttle ³  and they come to an end without hope. ⁴ 

“My days ¹  are swifter than a runner, ²  they speed by without seeing happiness.

(40:25) ¹  “Can you pull in ²  Leviathan with a hook, and tie down ³  its tongue with a rope?

Look, they hurl insults at me and openly threaten to kill me, ¹  for they say, ²  “Who hears?”

The godly will rejoice in the Lord and take shelter in him. All the morally upright ¹  will boast. ² 

He rained down meat on them like dust, birds as numerous as the sand on the seashores. ¹ 

The Lord is on my side ¹  as my helper. ²  I look in triumph on those who hate me.

He ¹  sends his command through the earth; ²  swiftly his order reaches its destination. ³ 

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, ¹  and like a bird from the trap ²  of the fowler.

A person who has a quick temper ¹  does foolish things, and a person with crafty schemes ²  is hated. ³ 

A fool lets fly with all his temper, ¹  but a wise person keeps it back. ² 

Do not let yourself be quickly provoked, ¹  for anger resides in the lap ²  of fools.

At the fords of the Arnon ¹  the Moabite women are like a bird that flies about when forced from its nest. ² 

their wings touched each other; they did not turn as they moved, but went straight ahead. ¹ 

Ephraim has been like a dove, easily deceived and lacking discernment. They called to Egypt for help; they turned to Assyria for protection.

Blind guides! You strain out a gnat yet swallow a camel! ¹ 

They entered, ¹  along with every living creature after its kind, every animal after its kind, every creeping thing that creeps on the earth after its kind, and every bird after its kind, everything with wings. ² 

Then I looked again and saw two women ¹  going forth with the wind in their wings (they had wings like those of a stork) and they lifted up the basket between the earth and the sky.

“‘Therefore, this is what the sovereign Lord says: Take note ¹  that I am against your wristbands with which you entrap people’s lives ²  like birds. I will tear them from your arms and will release the people’s lives, which you hunt like birds.
