Then David prayed to ¹  God for the child and fasted. ²  He would even ³  go and spend the night lying on the ground.

The elders of his house stood over him and tried to lift him from the ground, but he was unwilling, and refused to eat food with them.

Then the king stood up and tore his garments and lay down on the ground. All his servants were standing there with torn garments as well.

He made me walk all around among them. ¹  I realized ²  there were a great many bones in the valley and they were very dry.

Then he brought me to the outer court. I saw ¹  chambers there, and a pavement made for the court all around; thirty chambers faced the pavement.

Opposite the 35 feet ¹  that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement which belonged to the outer court, gallery faced gallery in the three stories.

Now the upper chambers were narrower, because the galleries took more space from them than from the lower and middle chambers of the building.

When ¹  the layer of dew had evaporated, ²  there on the surface of the desert was a thin flaky substance, ³  thin like frost on the earth.

Bathsheba bowed down on the floor before ¹  the king. The king said, “What do you want?”

Moab is my wash basin. ¹  I will make Edom serve me. ²  I will shout in triumph over Philistia.”

Below these chambers was a passage on the east side as one enters from the outer court.

So ¹  Judas threw the silver coins into the temple and left. Then he went out and hanged himself.

They had been asking each other, “Who will roll away the stone for us from the entrance to the tomb?”

So David got up from the ground, bathed, put on oil, and changed his clothes. He went to the house of the Lord and worshiped. Then, when he entered his palace, he requested that food be brought to him, and he ate.

The furnishings included linen and purple curtains hung by cords of the finest linen ¹  and purple wool on silver rings, alabaster columns, gold and silver couches ²  displayed on a floor made of valuable stones of alabaster, mother-of-pearl, and mineral stone.

The side chambers were in three stories, one above the other, thirty in each story. There were offsets in the wall all around to serve as supports for the side chambers, so that the supports were not in the wall of the temple.

Make a roof for the ark and finish it, leaving 18 inches ¹  from the top. ²  Put a door in the side of the ark, and make lower, middle, and upper decks.

and they saw ¹  the God of Israel. Under his feet ²  there was something like a pavement ³  made of sapphire, clear like the sky itself. ⁴ 

Gideon said, “Since you will not help, ¹  after the Lord hands Zebah and Zalmunna over to me, I will thresh ²  your skin ³  with ⁴  desert thorns and briers.”

Now Saul was sitting under a pomegranate tree in Migron, on the outskirts of Gibeah. The army that was with him numbered about six hundred men.
