Then ¹  he left them, got back into the boat, and went to the other side.

Then he sent his brothers on their way and they left. He said to them, “As you travel don’t be overcome with fear.” ¹ 

But they dared ¹  to go up to the crest of the hill, although ²  neither the ark of the covenant of the Lord nor Moses departed from the camp.

So the elders of Moab and the elders of Midian departed with the fee for divination in their hand. They came to Balaam and reported ¹  to him the words of Balak.
