From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. ¹ 

Can a fig tree produce olives, my brothers and sisters, ¹  or a vine produce figs? Neither can a salt water spring produce fresh water.

And just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, let us also bear ¹  the image of the man of heaven.

“Be patient ¹  with me a little longer and I will instruct you, for I still have words to speak on God’s behalf. ² 

Like a club or a sword or a sharp arrow, ¹  so is the one who testifies against ²  his neighbor as a false witness. ³ 

A shoot will grow out of Jesse’s ¹  root stock, a bud will sprout ²  from his roots.

You must bear your punishment for your obscene conduct and your abominable practices, declares the Lord.

God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: ¹  plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, ²  and ³  trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds.” It was so.

The land produced vegetation – plants yielding seeds according to their kinds, and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. God saw that it was good.

I will attack them like a bear robbed of her cubs – I will rip open their chests. I will devour them there like a lion – like a wild animal would tear them apart.
