The horn that was broken ¹  and in whose place there arose four others stands for four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, though they will not have his strength.

So Jonah went immediately to Nineveh, as the Lord had said. (Now Nineveh was an enormous city ¹  – it required three days to walk through it!) ² 

When the news ¹  reached the king of Nineveh, he got up from his throne, took off his royal robe, put on sackcloth, and sat on ashes.

Then Abraham returned to his servants, and they set out together ¹  for Beer Sheba where Abraham stayed. ² 

No prophet ever again arose in Israel like Moses, who knew the Lord face to face. ¹ 

Then Jonathan son of Saul left and went to David at Horesh. He encouraged him ¹  through God.

the young men would see me and step aside, ¹  and the old men would get up and remain standing;

So ¹  he got up and took the child and his mother and returned to the land of Israel.

But Jesus gently took his hand and raised him to his feet, and he stood up.

Then ¹  after he had spent everything, a severe famine took place in that country, and he began to be in need.

So the young men came, ¹  wrapped him up, ²  carried him out, and buried ³  him.

Not long after this, a hurricane-force ¹  wind called the northeaster ²  blew down from the island. ³ 

When Solomon finished presenting all these prayers and requests to the Lord, he got up from before the altar of the Lord where he had kneeled and spread out his hands toward the sky. ¹ 

The following Levites prepared to carry out the king’s orders: ¹  From the Kohathites: Mahath son of Amasai and Joel son of Azariah; from the Merarites: Kish son of Abdi and Azariah son of Jehallelel; from the Gershonites: Joah son of Zimmah and Eden son of Joah;

Then there was a great outcry from the people and their wives against their fellow Jews. ¹ 

Then all the virgins woke up and trimmed their lamps.

By now a strong wind was blowing and the sea was getting rough.

So when Mary ¹  heard this, she got up quickly and went to him.

After this, he and the men who were with him ate a meal and stayed there overnight. ¹  When they got up in the morning, he said, “Let me leave now so I can return to my master.” ² 

He left ¹  with all he owned. He quickly crossed ²  the Euphrates River ³  and headed for ⁴  the hill country of Gilead.
