My words come from the uprightness of my heart, ¹  and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely. ² 

Who can adequately recount the Lord’s mighty acts, or relate all his praiseworthy deeds? ¹ 

Arrogant people do nothing but scoff at me. ¹  Yet I do not turn aside from your law.

For my mouth ¹  speaks truth, ²  and my lips ³  hate wickedness. ⁴ 

The one who conceals hatred utters lies, ¹  and the one who spreads ²  slander ³  is certainly ⁴  a fool.

But I will completely uproot and destroy any of those nations that will not pay heed,’” ¹  says the Lord.

And people will settle there, and there will no longer be the threat of divine extermination – Jerusalem will dwell in security.

For one person is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, and another the message of knowledge according to the same Spirit,

The Lord said to Moses, “Write this as a memorial in the ¹  book, and rehearse ²  it in Joshua’s hearing; ³  for I will surely wipe out ⁴  the remembrance ⁵  of Amalek from under heaven.

We have rebelled and tried to deceive the Lord; we turned back from following our God. We stir up ¹  oppression and rebellion; we tell lies we concocted in our minds. ² 

The Lord roars from Zion; from Jerusalem ¹  his voice bellows out. ²  The heavens ³  and the earth shake. But the Lord is a refuge for his people; he is a stronghold for the citizens ⁴  of Israel.

Amos ¹  said: “The Lord comes roaring ²  out of Zion; from Jerusalem ³  he comes bellowing! ⁴  The shepherds’ pastures wilt; ⁵  the summit of Carmel ⁶  withers.” ⁷ 

This fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet: ¹  “I will open my mouth in parables, I will announce what has been hidden from the foundation of the world.” ² 

Then he uttered this oracle: ¹  “The oracle ²  of Balaam son of Beor; the oracle of the man whose eyes are open; ³

At that time we seized all his cities and put every one of them ¹  under divine judgment, ²  including even the women and children; we left no survivors.

you must by all means ¹  slaughter the inhabitants of that city with the sword; annihilate ²  with the sword everyone in it, as well as the livestock.
