So leaving them again, he went away and prayed for the third time, saying the same thing once more.

So ¹  he sent still a third. They even wounded this one, and threw him out.

This was now the third time Jesus was revealed to the disciples after he was raised from the dead.

Then ¹  the third angel ²  poured out his bowl on the rivers and the springs of water, and they turned into blood.

He must purify himself ¹  with water on the third day and on the seventh day, and so will be clean. But if he does not purify himself on the third day and the seventh day, then he will not be clean.
