“I (says the Lord) will strengthen the kingdom ¹  of Judah and deliver the people of Joseph ²  and will bring them back ³  because of my compassion for them. They will be as though I had never rejected them, for I am the Lord their God and therefore I will hear them.

You also be patient and strengthen your hearts, for the Lord’s return is near.

And, after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace who called you to his eternal glory in Christ ¹  will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you. ² 

The Israelites again did evil in the Lord’s sight. ¹  The Lord gave King Eglon of Moab control over Israel ²  because they had done evil in the Lord’s sight.

They worked hard and made the repairs. ¹  They followed the measurements specified for God’s temple and restored it. ² 

But ¹  I would strengthen ²  you with my words; ³  comfort from my lips would bring ⁴  you relief.

We ¹  sent Timothy, our brother and fellow worker for God ²  in the gospel of Christ, to strengthen you and encourage you about your faith,

He fortified these cities and placed officers in them, as well as storehouses of food, olive oil, and wine.

The Lord supports ¹  him on his sickbed; you completely heal him from his illness. ²

David was very upset, for the men ¹  were thinking of stoning him; ²  each man grieved bitterly ³  over his sons and daughters. But David drew strength from the Lord his God.

The prophet ¹  visited the king of Israel and instructed him, “Go, fortify your defenses. ²  Determine ³  what you must do, for in the spring ⁴  the king of Syria will attack ⁵  you.”

But the Lord stood by me and strengthened me, so that through me the message ¹  would be fully proclaimed ²  for all the Gentiles to hear. And so I was delivered from the lion’s mouth!

Do not be carried away by all sorts of strange teachings. ¹  For it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not ritual meals, ²  which have never benefited those who participated in them.

when he established the clouds above, when the fountains of the deep grew strong, ¹ 

She begins ¹  her work vigorously, and she strengthens ²  her arms.

You have not strengthened the weak, healed the sick, bandaged the injured, brought back the strays, or sought the lost, but with force and harshness ¹  you have ruled over them.

So you, my child, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Now be courageous ¹  and prove to be valiant warriors, for your lord Saul is dead. The people of Judah have anointed me as king over them.”

Lord, you have heard ¹  the request ²  of the oppressed; you make them feel secure because you listen to their prayer. ³
