I thought, ¹  ‘You are gods; all of you are sons of the Most High.’ ² 

Look, I made him a witness to nations, ¹  a ruler and commander of nations.”

Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah: ‘I am ready ¹  to shake the sky ²  and the earth.

So he said, “These are the two anointed ones ¹  who stand by the Lord of the whole earth.”

The ¹  seed sown on rocky ground ²  is the person who hears the word and immediately receives it with joy.

The field is the world and the good seed are the people ¹  of the kingdom. The weeds are the people ²  of the evil one,

These are the ones sown on rocky ground: As soon as they hear the word, they receive it with joy.

Now I commend to you our sister Phoebe, who is a servant ¹  of the church in Cenchrea,

for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may be able to speak boldly as I ought to speak.

As for ¹  the woman you saw, she is the great city that has sovereignty over the kings of the earth.”

and Moses wrote down all the words of the Lord. Early in the morning he built ¹  an altar at the foot ²  of the mountain and arranged ³  twelve standing stones ⁴  – according to the twelve tribes of Israel.

On the next day Moses went into the tent of the testimony – and ¹  the staff of Aaron for the house of Levi had sprouted, and brought forth buds, and produced blossoms, and yielded almonds! ² 

They said to the messengers who had come, “Here’s what you should say to the men of Jabesh Gilead: ‘Tomorrow deliverance will come to you when the sun is fully up.’” When the messengers went and told the men of Jabesh Gilead, they were happy.

So the exiles proceeded accordingly. Ezra the priest separated out ¹  by name men who were leaders in their family groups. ²  They sat down to consider this matter on the first day of the tenth month,

“As for you, son of man, take one branch, and write on it, ‘For Judah, and for the Israelites associated with him.’ Then take another branch and write on it, ‘For Joseph, the branch of Ephraim and all the house of Israel associated with him.’

I have come in my Father’s name, and you do not accept ¹  me. If someone else comes in his own name, you will accept ²  him.

But the Advocate, ¹  the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you ²  everything, ³  and will cause you to remember everything ⁴  I said to you.

The Danites sent out from their whole tribe five representatives, ¹  capable men ²  from Zorah and Eshtaol, to spy out the land and explore it. They said to them, “Go, explore the land.” They came to the Ephraimite hill country and spent the night at Micah’s house. ³ 

So he said to the messengers of Ben Hadad, “Say this to my master, the king, ‘I will give you everything you demanded at first from your servant, but I am unable to agree to this latest demand.’” ¹  So the messengers went back and gave their report.

that sends messengers by sea, who glide over the water’s surface in boats made of papyrus. Go, you swift messengers, to a nation of tall, smooth-skinned people, ¹  to a people that are feared far and wide, ²  to a nation strong and victorious, ³  whose land rivers divide. ⁴
