Fishermen will stand beside it; from Engedi to En-eglaim they will spread nets. They will catch many kinds of fish, like the fish of the Great Sea. ¹ 

But I will throw my net over him, and he will be caught in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans ¹  (but he will not see it), ²  and there he will die. ³ 

I will throw my net over him and he will be caught in my snare; I will bring him to Babylon and judge him there because of the unfaithfulness he committed against me.

Going on from there he saw two other brothers, James the son of Zebedee and John his brother, in a boat ¹  with Zebedee their father, mending their nets. Then ²  he called them.

The latticework on the tops of the pillars was adorned with ornamental wreaths and chains; the top of each pillar had seven groupings of ornaments. ¹ 

Hear this, you priests! Pay attention, you Israelites! ¹  Listen closely, ²  O king! ³  For judgment is about to overtake you! ⁴  For you were like a trap ⁵  to Mizpah, ⁶  like a net ⁷  spread out to catch Tabor. ⁸ 

I discovered this: ¹  More bitter than death is the kind of ²  woman ³  who is like a hunter’s snare; ⁴  her heart is like a hunter’s net and her hands are like prison chains. The man who pleases God escapes her, but the sinner is captured by her.

מ (Mem) He sent down fire ¹  into my bones, and it overcame ²  them. He spread out a trapper’s net ³  for my feet; he made me turn back. He has made me desolate; I am faint all day long.

You are to make a grating ¹  for it, a network of bronze, and you are to make on the network four bronze rings on its four corners.

A trap ¹  seizes him by the heel; a snare ²  grips him.

We escaped with our lives, ¹  like a bird from a hunter’s snare. The snare broke, and we escaped.

Deliver yourself like a gazelle from a snare, ¹  and like a bird from the trap ²  of the fowler.

The wicked person desires a stronghold, ¹  but the righteous root ²  endures. ³ 

till an arrow pierces his liver ¹  – like a bird hurrying into a trap, and he does not know that it will cost him his life. ² 

Does a bird swoop down into a trap on the ground if there is no bait? Does a trap spring up from the ground unless it has surely caught something?

The ropes of Sheol ¹  tightened around me; ²  the snares of death trapped me. ³ 

That is why snares surround you, and why sudden fear terrifies you,

he will certainly rescue you from the snare of the hunter ¹  and from the destructive plague.

lest you learn ¹  his ways and entangle yourself in a snare. ²
