Now when John ¹  heard in prison about the deeds Christ ²  had done, he sent his disciples to ask a question: ³ 

Now ¹  when they approached Jerusalem ²  and came to Bethphage, ³  at the Mount of Olives, ⁴  Jesus sent two disciples,

When the harvest time was near, he sent his slaves ¹  to the tenants to collect his portion of the crop. ² 

He sent his slaves ¹  to summon those who had been invited to the banquet, but they would not come.

Then ¹  Jesus’ ²  mother and his brothers ³  came. Standing ⁴  outside, they sent word to him, to summon him.

Now ¹  as they approached Jerusalem, ²  near Bethphage ³  and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, ⁴  Jesus ⁵  sent two of his disciples

At harvest time he sent a slave ¹  to the tenants to collect from them ²  his portion of the crop. ³ 

So ¹  he sent another slave to them again. This one they struck on the head and treated outrageously.

He sent another, and that one they killed. This happened to many others, some of whom were beaten, others killed.

He had one left, his one dear son. ¹  Finally he sent him to them, saying, ‘They will respect my son.’

The man from whom the demons had gone out begged to go ¹  with him, but Jesus ²  sent him away, saying,

But they remained silent. So ¹  Jesus ²  took hold of the man, ³  healed him, and sent him away. ⁴ 

Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, he has done nothing ¹  deserving death. ² 

You yourselves can testify that I said, ‘I am not the Christ,’ ¹  but rather, ‘I have been sent before him.’

For the one whom God has sent ¹  speaks the words of God, for he does not give the Spirit sparingly. ² 

nor do you have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent.

Now this ¹  is eternal life ²  – that they know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, ³  whom you sent.

So when Jacob heard that there was grain ¹  in Egypt, he sent our ancestors ²  there ³  the first time.

When the brothers found out about this, they brought him down to Caesarea ¹  and sent him away to Tarsus.

At that very moment, ¹  three men sent to me from Caesarea ²  approached ³  the house where we were staying. ⁴
