It was reported to Saul saying, “David is at Naioth in Ramah.”

Jonathan replied to Saul, “David urgently requested that he be allowed to go to Bethlehem.

Then Saul said, “Listen, son of Ahitub.” He replied, “Here I am, my lord.”

Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the priests of the Lord.

Saul replied, “May you be blessed by the Lord, for you have had compassion on me.

But a messenger came to Saul saying, “Come quickly, for the Philistines have raided the land!”

When Saul saw the camp of the Philistines, he was absolutely terrified. ¹ 

So Saul, his three sons, his armor bearer, and all his men died together that day.

When the residents of Jabesh Gilead heard what the Philistines had done to Saul,

Then David chanted this lament over Saul and his son Jonathan.

Now Michal, Saul’s daughter, had no children to the day of her death.

When David was told what Rizpah daughter of Aiah, Saul’s concubine, had done,

The battle was thick ¹  around Saul; the archers spotted him and wounded him. ² 

So Saul and his three sons died; his whole household ¹  died together.

When all the residents of Jabesh Gilead heard about everything the Philistines had done to Saul,

They did so, ¹  sending their financial aid ²  to the elders by Barnabas and Saul.

But Saul (also known as Paul), ¹  filled with the Holy Spirit, ²  stared straight ³  at him

The donkeys of Saul’s father Kish wandered off, ¹  so Kish said to his son Saul, “Take one of the servants with you and go ²  look for the donkeys.” ³ 

They got up at dawn and Samuel called to Saul on the roof, “Get up, so I can send you on your way.” So Saul got up and the two of them – he and Samuel – went outside.

When Saul and his servant ¹  arrived at Gibeah, a company of prophets was coming out to meet him. Then the spirit of God rushed upon Saul ²  and he prophesied among them.
