We have come to know love by this: ¹  that Jesus ²  laid down ³  his life for us; thus we ought to lay down our lives for our fellow Christians.

to the only God our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory, majesty, power, and authority, before all time, and now, and for all eternity. Amen.

that we, being rescued from the hand of our ¹  enemies, may serve him without fear, ²

And how is it that each one of us hears them ¹  in our own native language? ² 

So Jacob went down to Egypt and died there, ¹  along with our ancestors, ² 

And we proclaim to you the good news about the promise to our ancestors, ¹ 

who ¹  have risked their lives ²  for the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. ³ 

testifying ¹  to both Jews and Greeks about repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus. ² 

The Spirit himself bears witness to ¹  our spirit that we are God’s children.
