Jesus ¹  said to another, “Follow me.” But he replied, ²  “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.”

Yet ¹  another said, “I will follow you, Lord, but first let me say goodbye to my family.” ² 

So Thomas (called Didymus ¹ ) ²  said to his fellow disciples, “Let us go too, so that we may die with him.” ³ 

Jesus replied, ¹  “I told you that I am he. If you are looking for ²  me, let these men ³  go.” ⁴ 

Therefore let it be known to you, brothers, that through this one ¹  forgiveness of sins is proclaimed to you,

The next day they let ¹  the horsemen ²  go on with him, and they returned to the barracks. ³ 

Then the soldiers cut the ropes ¹  of the ship’s boat and let it drift away. ² 

And David says, “Let their table become a snare and trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;

let their eyes be darkened so that they may not see, and make their backs bend continually.” ¹ 

And let us not put Christ ¹  to the test, as some of them did, and were destroyed by snakes. ² 

A person should examine himself first, ¹  and in this way ²  let him eat the bread and drink of the cup.

From now on let no one cause me trouble, for I bear the marks of Jesus on my body. ¹ 

Be angry and do not sin; ¹  do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger. ² 

Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you should answer everyone.

And these also must be tested first and then let them serve as deacons if they are found blameless.

Yes, brother, let me have some benefit from you in the Lord. Refresh my heart in Christ. ¹ 

But when he again brings ¹  his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all the angels of God worship him!” ² 

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help. ¹ 

And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.

And let us take thought of how to spur one another on to love and good works, ¹
