Then Pilate said to him, “Don’t you hear how many charges they are bringing against you?”

So ¹  the Pharisees ²  went out immediately and began plotting with the Herodians, ³  as to how they could assassinate ⁴  him.

He said to them, “Don’t you understand this parable? Then ¹  how will you understand any parable?

Jesus ¹  asked his father, “How long has this been happening to him?” And he said, “From childhood.

So Pilate asked him again, ¹  “Have you nothing to say? See how many charges they are bringing against you!”

Mary ¹  said to the angel, “How will this be, since I have not had sexual relations with ²  a man?”

Those ¹  who had seen it told them how the man who had been demon-possessed had been healed. ² 

“I have come ¹  to bring ²  fire on the earth – and how I wish it were already kindled!

When Jesus noticed this, ¹  he said, “How hard ²  it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God! ³ 

But ¹  he said to them, “How is it that they say that the Christ ²  is David’s son? ³ 

Now ¹  while some were speaking about the temple, how it was adorned ²  with beautiful stones and offerings, ³  Jesus ⁴  said,

He is not here, but has been raised! ¹  Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee, ² 

and how our chief priests and rulers handed him over ¹  to be condemned to death, and crucified ²  him.

So ¹  he said to them, “You ²  foolish people ³  – how slow of heart ⁴  to believe ⁵  all that the prophets have spoken!

Then they told what had happened on the road, ¹  and how they recognized him ²  when he broke the bread.

They asked the parents, ¹  “Is this your son, whom you say ²  was born blind? Then how does he now see?”

Then they said to him, “What did he do to you? How did he cause you to see?” ¹ 

Thomas said, ¹  “Lord, we don’t know where you are going. How can we know the way?”

Simeon ¹  has explained ²  how God first concerned himself ³  to select ⁴  from among the Gentiles ⁵  a people for his name.
