Look, we have investigated this, so it is true. Hear it, ¹  and apply it for your own ²  good.” ³ 

You will pray to him and he will hear you, and you will fulfill your vows to him. ¹ 

Surely it is an empty cry ¹  – God does not hear it; the Almighty does not take notice of it.

I call to you for you will answer me, O God. Listen to me! ¹  Hear what I say! ²

For you, O God, hear my vows; you grant me the reward that belongs to your loyal followers. ¹ 

Does the one who makes the human ear not hear? Does the one who forms the human eye not see? ¹

Let all the kings of the earth give thanks ¹  to you, O Lord, when they hear the words you speak. ²

The nations run away when they hear a loud noise; ¹  the nations scatter when you spring into action! ² 

You see ¹  many things, but don’t comprehend; ²  their ears are open, but do not hear.”

“How long must I see the enemy’s battle flags and hear the military signals of their bugles?” ¹ 

So the Lord said, ¹  “Hear, you nations! Be witnesses and take note of what will happen to these people. ² 

When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, ¹  I will hear your prayers. ² 

Yes, ¹  here is what he says: “You hear cries of panic and of terror; there is no peace in sight. ² 

They will hear, ‘Run! Save yourselves! Even if you must be like a lonely shrub in the desert!’ ¹ 

Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them: ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

Take away from me your ¹  noisy songs; I don’t want to hear the music of your stringed instruments. ²
