and to enlighten ¹  everyone about God’s secret plan ²  – a secret that has been hidden for ages ³  in God ⁴  who has created all things.

that is, the mystery that has been kept hidden from ages and generations, but has now been revealed to his saints.

He has destroyed ¹  what was against us, a certificate of indebtedness ²  expressed in decrees opposed to us. He has taken it away by nailing it to the cross.

So, since Christ suffered ¹  in the flesh, you also arm yourselves with the same attitude, because the one who has suffered in the flesh has finished with sin, ² 

because ¹  everyone ²  who has been fathered by God ³  conquers ⁴  the world. ⁵ This ⁶  is the conquering power ⁷  that has conquered ⁸  the world: our faith.

The one who has the Son ¹  has this ²  eternal ³  life; the one who does not have the Son of God does not have this ⁴  eternal ⁵  life.

Let us rejoice ¹  and exult and give him glory, because the wedding celebration of the Lamb has come, and his bride has made herself ready.

For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’ ¹ 

Therefore take the talent from him and give it to the one who has ten. ¹ 

For this reason that field has been called the “Field of Blood” to this day.

He asked, “Why? What wrong has he done?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

And he said, “Whoever has ears to hear had better listen!” ¹ 

And when the grain is ripe, he sends in the sickle ¹  because the harvest has come.” ² 

But when Herod heard this, he said, “John, whom I beheaded, has been raised!”

Peter remembered and said to him, “Rabbi, look! The fig tree you cursed has withered.”

Have you not read this scripture: ‘The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. ¹ 

Pilate asked them, “Why? What has he done wrong?” But they shouted more insistently, “Crucify him!”

and my spirit has begun to rejoice ¹  in God my Savior,

because he who is mighty ¹  has done great things for me, and holy is his name;

He has done this ¹  to show mercy ²  to our ancestors, ³  and to remember his holy covenant ⁴  –
