But the man who had been healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had slipped out, since there was a crowd in that place.

got into a boat, and started to cross the lake ¹  to Capernaum. ²  (It had already become dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.) ³ 

But some boats from Tiberias ¹  came to shore ²  near the place where they had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. ³ 

(Now Jesus had not yet entered the village, but was still in the place where Martha had come out to meet him.)

The crowd that stood there and heard the voice ¹  said that it had thundered. Others said that an angel had spoken to him. ² 

Because Jesus ¹  knew that the Father had handed all things over to him, ²  and that he had come from God and was going back to God,

until the day he was taken up to heaven, ¹  after he had given orders ²  by ³  the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

(For the Spirit ¹  had not yet come upon ²  any of them, but they had only been baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.) ³ 

The ¹  circumcised believers ²  who had accompanied Peter were greatly astonished ³  that ⁴  the gift of the Holy Spirit ⁵  had been poured out ⁶  even on the Gentiles,

From there they sailed back to Antioch, ¹  where they had been commended ²  to the grace of God for the work they had now completed. ³ 

After ¹  they had spent some time there, ²  they were sent off in peace by the brothers to those who had sent them. ³ 

but Paul insisted ¹  that they should not take along this one who had left them in Pamphylia ²  and had not accompanied them in the work.

When Paul ¹  had greeted them, he began to explain ²  in detail ³  what God ⁴  had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.

(For they had seen Trophimus the Ephesian in the city with him previously, and ¹  they assumed Paul had brought him into the inner temple courts.) ² 

After three months we put out to sea ¹  in an Alexandrian ship that had wintered at the island and had the “Heavenly Twins” ²  as its figurehead. ³ 

Now ¹  when the dragon realized ²  that he had been thrown down to the earth, he pursued the woman who had given birth to the male child.

Then Herod ¹  privately summoned the wise men and determined from them when the star had appeared.

Now when Jesus ¹  heard that John had been imprisoned, ²  he went into Galilee.

because he taught them like one who had authority, ¹  not like their experts in the law. ² 

because John had repeatedly told ¹  him, “It is not lawful for you to have her.” ²
