For I testify, they gave according to their means and beyond their means. They did so voluntarily, ¹ 

It was he ¹  who gave some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, and some as pastors and teachers, ² 

who gave himself as a ransom for all, revealing God’s purpose at his appointed time. ¹ 

But see how great he must be, if ¹  Abraham the patriarch gave him a tithe ²  of his plunder.

Then ¹  he instructed the crowds to sit down on the grass. He took the five loaves and two fish, and looking up to heaven he gave thanks and broke the loaves. He gave them to the disciples, ²  who in turn gave them to the crowds. ³ 

Now when Jesus saw a large crowd ¹  around him, he gave orders to go to the other side of the lake. ² 

Jesus ¹  called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits ²  so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness. ³ 

He gave ¹  them another parable: ²  “The kingdom of heaven is like a mustard seed ³  that a man took and sowed in his field.

Take what is yours and go. I ¹  want to give to this last man ²  the same as I gave to you.

To ¹  one he gave five talents, ²  to another two, and to another one, each according to his ability. Then he went on his journey.

I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.’

While ¹  they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to his disciples, and said, “Take, eat, this is my body.”

Immediately ¹  one of them ran and got a sponge, filled it with sour wine, ²  put it on a stick, ³  and gave it to him to drink.

After ¹  they had assembled with the elders and formed a plan, they gave a large sum of money to the soldiers,

Jesus ¹  called the twelve and began to send them out two by two. He gave them authority over the unclean spirits. ² 

But ¹  a suitable day ²  came, when Herod gave a banquet on his birthday for his court officials, military commanders, and leaders of Galilee.

For they all gave out of their wealth. ¹  But she, out of her poverty, put in what she had to live on, everything she had.” ² 

While they were eating, he took bread, and after giving thanks he broke it, gave it to them, and said, “Take it. This is my body.”

Then ¹  he rolled up ²  the scroll, gave it back to the attendant, and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fixed on ³  him.

Then ¹  Levi gave a great banquet ²  in his house for Jesus, ³  and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others sitting ⁴  at the table with them.
