There are three things that are too wonderful for me, ¹  four that I do not understand:

Under three things the earth trembles, ¹  and under four things it cannot bear up:

There are four things on earth that are small, ¹  but they are exceedingly wise: ² 

There are three things that are magnificent ¹  in their step, four things that move about magnificently: ² 

and the altar hearth, 7 feet, and from the altar hearth four horns projecting upward.

Then four large beasts came up from the sea; they were different from one another.

(2:1) ¹  Once again I looked and this time I saw four horns.

Not counting children and women, ¹  there were four thousand men who ate. ² 

Or the seven loaves for the four thousand and how many baskets you took up?

Some people ¹  came bringing to him a paralytic, carried by four of them. ² 

There were about four thousand ¹  who ate. ²  Then he dismissed them. ³ 

When ¹  Jesus arrived, ²  he found that Lazarus ³  had been in the tomb four days already. ⁴ 

So do what ¹  we tell you: We have four men ²  who have taken ³  a vow; ⁴ 

You are to cast four gold rings for it and put them on its four feet, with two rings on one side and two rings on the other side.

For the gate of the courtyard there is to be a curtain of thirty feet, of blue, purple, and scarlet yarn and fine twined linen, the work of an embroiderer, with four posts and their four bases.

You will take some of its blood, and place it on the four horns of the altar, on the four corners of the ledge, and on the border all around; you will cleanse it and make atonement for it. ¹ 

“After these things, ¹  as I was watching, another beast ²  like a leopard appeared, with four bird-like wings on its back. ³  This beast had four heads, ⁴  and ruling authority was given to it.

The male goat acted even more arrogantly. But no sooner had the large horn become strong than it was broken, and there arose four conspicuous horns ¹  in its place, ²  extending toward the four winds of the sky. ³ 

The horn that was broken ¹  and in whose place there arose four others stands for four kingdoms that will arise from his nation, though they will not have his strength.

In ¹  a circle around the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on those thrones were twenty-four elders. They were ²  dressed in white clothing and had golden crowns ³  on their heads.
