So if ¹  you cannot do such a very little thing as this, why do you worry about ²  the rest?

nor do you have his word residing in you, because you do not believe the one whom he sent.

therefore ¹  you who teach someone else, do you not teach yourself? You who preach against stealing, do you steal?

You who tell others not to commit adultery, do you commit adultery? You who abhor ¹  idols, do you rob temples?

Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. ¹  Do not be conceited. ² 

For what do I have to do with judging those outside? Are you not to judge those inside?

So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God.

Be angry and do not sin; ¹  do not let the sun go down on the cause of your anger. ² 

And do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, ¹  for God is pleased with such sacrifices.

So whoever knows what is good to do ¹  and does not do it is guilty of sin. ² 

Thus whenever you do charitable giving, ¹  do not blow a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in synagogues ²  and on streets so that people will praise them. I tell you the truth, ³  they have their reward.

Yet ¹  you do not know him, but I know him. If I were to say that I do not know him, ²  I would be a liar like you. But I do know him, and I obey ³  his teaching. ⁴ 

For whenever the Gentiles, ¹  who do not have the law, do by nature ²  the things required by the law, ³  these who do not have the law are a law to themselves.

if it is exhortation, he must exhort; if it is contributing, he must do so with sincerity; if it is leadership, he must do so with diligence; if it is showing mercy, he must do so with cheerfulness.

For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Even the tax collectors ¹  do the same, don’t they?

But accumulate for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and thieves do not break in and steal.

Why do you worry about clothing? Think about how the flowers ¹  of the field grow; they do not work ²  or spin.

Jesus sent out these twelve, instructing them as follows: ¹  “Do not go to Gentile regions ²  and do not enter any Samaritan town. ³ 

Jesus ¹  said to him, “Friend, do what you are here to do.” Then they came and took hold ²  of Jesus and arrested him.

Then ¹  Jesus said to him, ²  “What do you want me to do for you?” The blind man replied, “Rabbi, ³  let me see again.” ⁴
