But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of those who have fallen asleep.

For since death came through a man, ¹  the resurrection of the dead also came through a man. ² 

But someone will say, “How are the dead raised? With what kind of body will they come?”

It is the same with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. ¹ 

even though we were dead in transgressions, made us alive together with Christ – by grace you are saved! ¹  –

They will face a reckoning before ¹  Jesus Christ ²  who stands ready to judge the living and the dead.

saying, “Get up, take the child and his mother, and go to the land of Israel, for those who were seeking the child’s life are dead.”

The blind see, the ¹  lame walk, lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news proclaimed to them.

As they were coming down from the mountain, Jesus commanded them, ¹  “Do not tell anyone about the vision until the Son of Man is raised from the dead.”

‘I am the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob’? ¹  He is not the God of the dead but of the living!” ² 

So ¹  he got up and rebuked ²  the wind, and said to the sea, ³  “Be quiet! Calm down!” Then ⁴  the wind stopped, and it was dead calm.

It shrieked, threw him into terrible convulsions, and came out. The boy ¹  looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead!”

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels ¹  in heaven.

While he was still speaking, someone from the synagogue ruler’s ¹  house came and said, “Your daughter is dead; do not trouble the teacher any longer.”

Now they were all ¹  wailing and mourning ²  for her, but he said, “Stop your weeping; she is not dead but asleep.”

Now Herod ¹  the tetrarch ²  heard about everything that was happening, and he was thoroughly perplexed, ³  because some people were saying that John ⁴  had been raised from the dead,

because this son of mine was dead, and is alive again – he was lost and is found!’ ¹  So ²  they began to celebrate.

It was appropriate ¹  to celebrate and be glad, for your brother ²  was dead, and is alive; he was lost and is found.’” ³ 

He ¹  replied to him, ‘If they do not respond to ²  Moses and the prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’” ³ 

Then ¹  the disciples ²  said ³  to him, “Where, ⁴  Lord?” He replied to them, “Where the dead body ⁵  is, there the vultures ⁶  will gather.” ⁷
