“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

For we cannot do anything against the truth, but only for the sake of the truth.

Similarly good works are also obvious, and the ones that are not cannot remain hidden.

If we are unfaithful, he remains faithful, since he cannot deny himself. ¹ 

For the blood of bulls and goats cannot take away sins. ¹ 

I cannot carry out ¹  my fierce anger! I cannot totally destroy Ephraim! Because I am God, and not man – the Holy One among you – I will not come in wrath!

because we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.

We said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father. If he leaves his father, his father ¹  will die.’ ² 

The Lord’s messenger said to him, “You should not ask me my name, because you cannot comprehend it.” ¹ 

I wipe them out and beat them to death; they cannot get up; they fall at my feet.

But evil people are like thorns – all of them are tossed away, for they cannot be held in the hand.

He frustrates ¹  the plans ²  of the crafty ³  so that ⁴  their hands cannot accomplish what they had planned! ⁵ 

If ¹  he tears down, it cannot be rebuilt; if he imprisons a person, there is no escape. ² 

Fine gold cannot be given in exchange for it, nor can its price be weighed out in silver.

It cannot be measured out for purchase ¹  with the gold of Ophir, with precious onyx ²  or sapphires.

Teach me what I cannot see. ¹  If I have done evil, I will do so no more.’

Tell us what we should ¹  say to him. We cannot prepare a case ²  because of the darkness.

In excitement and impatience it consumes the ground; ¹  it cannot stand still ²  when the trumpet is blown.

For this reason ¹  the wicked cannot withstand ²  judgment, ³  nor can sinners join the assembly of the godly. ⁴ 

A horse disappoints those who trust in it for victory; ¹  despite its great strength, it cannot deliver.
