I have become a brother to jackals and a companion of ostriches. ¹ 

Certainly a man cannot rescue his brother; ¹  he cannot pay God an adequate ransom price ² 

The one who ¹  is slack ²  in his work is a brother ³  to one who destroys. ⁴ 

Then you will call ¹  your ²  brother, “My People” (Ammi)! You will call your sister, “Pity” (Ruhamah)!

So by your knowledge the weak brother or sister, ¹  for whom Christ died, is destroyed. ² 

But I saw none of the other apostles ¹  except James the Lord’s brother.

From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother,

Yet do not regard him as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother. ¹ 

If a brother or sister ¹  is poorly clothed and lacks daily food,

From ¹  the elder, ²  to Gaius ³  my dear brother, whom I love in truth. ⁴ 

So Esau hated ¹  Jacob because of the blessing his father had given to his brother. ²  Esau said privately, ³  “The time ⁴  of mourning for my father is near; then I will kill ⁵  my brother Jacob!”

But Onan knew that the child ¹  would not be considered his. ²  So whenever ³  he had sexual relations with ⁴  his brother’s wife, he withdrew prematurely ⁵  so as not to give his brother a descendant.
