the twenty-four elders throw themselves to the ground ¹  before the one who sits on the throne and worship the one who lives forever and ever, and they offer their crowns ²  before his ³  throne, saying:

And a leper ¹  approached, and bowed low before him, saying, ²  “Lord, if ³  you are willing, you can make me clean.”

They ¹  cried out, “Son of God, leave us alone! ²  Have you come here to torment us before the time?” ³ 

And you will be brought before governors and kings ¹  because of me, as a witness to them and the Gentiles.

And he was transfigured before them. ¹  His ²  face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.

The ¹  next day (which is after the day of preparation) the chief priests and the Pharisees ²  assembled before Pilate

If ¹  this matter is heard before the governor, ²  we will satisfy him ³  and keep you out of trouble.” ⁴ 

Now ¹  when evening had already come, since it was the day of preparation (that is, the day before the Sabbath), ²

because a friend of mine has stopped here while on a journey, ¹  and I have nothing to set before ²  him.’

The ¹  Pharisee was astonished when he saw that Jesus ²  did not first wash his hands ³  before the meal.

Aren’t five sparrows sold for two pennies? ¹  Yet not one of them is forgotten before God.

So ¹  the first one came before him and said, ‘Sir, ²  your mina ³  has made ten minas more.’

Then, six days before the Passover, Jesus came to Bethany, where Lazarus lived, whom he ¹  had raised from the dead.

Although Jesus ¹  had performed ²  so many miraculous signs before them, they still refused to believe in him,
