no bag ¹  for the journey, or an extra tunic, ²  or sandals or staff, ³  for the worker deserves his provisions.

I ¹  tell you that on the day of judgment, people will give an account for every worthless word they speak.

But while everyone was sleeping, an enemy came and sowed weeds ¹  among the wheat and went away.

He said, ‘An enemy has done this.’ So ¹  the slaves replied, ‘Do you want us to go and gather them?’

Just then there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit, ¹  and he cried out, ² 

But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven, but is guilty of an eternal sin” ¹ 

Jesus said to them, “Have you come with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹ 

Now ¹  many have undertaken to compile an account ²  of the things ³  that have been fulfilled ⁴  among us,

An ¹  angel of the Lord, ²  standing on the right side of the altar of incense, appeared ³  to him.

He then ¹  told them a parable: ²  “The land of a certain rich man produced ³  an abundant crop,

But when you host an elaborate meal, ¹  invite the poor, the crippled, ²  the lame, and ³  the blind. ⁴ 

So ¹  Judas ²  agreed and began looking for an opportunity to betray Jesus ³  when no crowd was present. ⁴ 

And after about an hour still another insisted, ¹  “Certainly this man was with him, because he too is a Galilean.” ² 

Then ¹  Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation ²  against this man.”

(This ¹  was a man who had been thrown into prison for an insurrection ²  started in the city, and for murder.) ³ 

For I have given you an example ¹  – you should do just as I have done for you.

After an interval of about three hours, ¹  his wife came in, but she did not know ²  what had happened.

But during the night an angel of the Lord ¹  opened ²  the doors of the prison, ³  led them out, ⁴  and said,

After ¹  he had destroyed ²  seven nations ³  in the land of Canaan, he gave his people their land as an inheritance. ⁴ 

When both the Gentiles and the Jews (together with their rulers) made ¹  an attempt to mistreat ²  them and stone them, ³
