The produce of the land is seized ¹  by all of them, even the king is served ²  by the fields. ³ 

Look, a king will promote fairness; ¹  officials will promote justice. ² 

Mourn over the field, ¹  over the delightful fields and the fruitful vine!

Do not judge according to external appearance, ¹  but judge with proper ²  judgment.”

A prayer of David. Lord, consider my just cause! ²  Pay attention to my cry for help! Listen to the prayer I sincerely offer! ³ 

I will reestablish honest judges as in former times, wise advisers as in earlier days. ¹  Then you will be called, ‘The Just City, Faithful Town.’”

You must be truthful, honest and upright when you take an oath saying, ‘As surely as the Lord lives!’ ¹  If you do, ²  the nations will pray to be as blessed by him as you are and will make him the object of their boasting.” ³ 

Can a person rob ¹  God? You indeed are robbing me, but you say, ‘How are we robbing you?’ In tithes and contributions! ² 

Thus ¹  they asked him, “Teacher, we know that you speak and teach correctly, ²  and show no partiality, but teach the way of God in accordance with the truth. ³ 

Let us live decently as in the daytime, not in carousing and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and sensuality, not in discord and jealousy.

Here is another way that our people ¹  can learn ²  to engage in good works to meet pressing needs and so not be unfruitful.

So Achish summoned David and said to him, “As surely as the Lord lives, you are an honest man, and I am glad to have you ¹  serving ²  with me in the army. ³  I have found no fault with you from the day that you first came to me until the present time. But in the opinion ⁴  of the leaders, you are not reliable. ⁵ 

He commanded them: “Carry out your duties with respect for the Lord, with honesty, and with pure motives. ¹ 

“Therefore, ¹  I will not refrain my mouth; ²  I will speak in the anguish of my spirit; I will complain ³  in the bitterness of my soul.

There ¹  an upright person could present his case ²  before him, and I would be delivered forever from my judge.

I put on righteousness and it clothed me, ¹  my just dealing ²  was like a robe and a turban;

My words come from the uprightness of my heart, ¹  and my lips will utter knowledge sincerely. ² 

For in truth, my words are not false; it is one complete ¹  in knowledge who is with you.

Whoever lives a blameless life, ¹  does what is right, and speaks honestly. ² 

Rejoice in the Lord and be happy, you who are godly! Shout for joy, all you who are morally upright! ¹
