¹ O Lord, reflect on ²  what has happened to us; consider ³  and look at ⁴  our disgrace.

God created humankind ¹  in his own image, in the image of God he created them, ²  male and female he created them. ³ 

You must bring into the ark two of every kind of living creature from all flesh, ¹  male and female, to keep them alive ²  with you.

and also seven ¹  of every kind of bird in the sky, male and female, ²  to preserve their offspring ³  on the face of the earth.

male and female, came into the ark to Noah, ¹  just as God had commanded him. ² 

Those that entered were male and female, ¹  just as God commanded him. Then the Lord shut him in.

This is my requirement that you and your descendants after you must keep: ¹  Every male among you must be circumcised. ² 

Any uncircumcised male ¹  who has not been circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin will be cut off ²  from his people – he has failed to carry out my requirement.” ³ 

Only on this one condition will these men consent to live with us and become one people: They demand ¹  that every male among us be circumcised just as they are circumcised.

All the men who assembled at the city gate ¹  agreed with ²  Hamor and his son Shechem. Every male who assembled at the city gate ³  was circumcised.

“‘If his offering is a burnt offering ¹  from the herd he must present it as a flawless male; he must present it at the entrance ²  of the Meeting Tent for its ³  acceptance before the Lord.

“‘If his offering is from the flock for a burnt offering ¹  – from the sheep or the goats – he must present a flawless male,

“‘Now if his offering is a peace offering sacrifice, ¹  if he presents an offering from the herd, he must present before the Lord a flawless male or a female. ² 

or his sin that he committed ¹  is made known to him, ²  he must bring a flawless male goat as his offering. ³ 

Every male among the sons of Aaron may eat it. It is a perpetual allotted portion ¹  throughout your generations ²  from the gifts of the Lord. Anyone who touches these gifts ³  must be holy.’” ⁴ 

“Tell the Israelites, ‘When a woman produces offspring ¹  and bears a male child, ²  she will be unclean seven days, as she is unclean during the days of her menstruation. ³ 

If a man has sexual intercourse with a male as one has sexual intercourse with a woman, ¹  the two of them have committed an abomination. They must be put to death; their blood guilt is on themselves.

If the person is from sixty years old and older, if he is a male the conversion value is fifteen shekels, and for the female ten shekels.

“Take a census ¹  of the entire ²  Israelite community ³  by their clans and families, ⁴  counting the name of every individual male. ⁵ 

“Number the Levites by their clans ¹  and their families; every male from a month old and upward you are to number.” ²
