In no way did I mean the immoral people of this world, or the greedy and swindlers and idolaters, since you would then have to go out of the world.

To the weak I became weak in order to gain the weak. I have become all things to all people, so that by all means I may save some.

From Paul, ¹  an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to the saints [in Ephesus], ²  the faithful ³  in Christ Jesus.

to demonstrate in the coming ages ¹  the surpassing wealth of his grace in kindness toward ²  us in Christ Jesus.

Now this secret ¹  was not disclosed to people ²  in former ³  generations as it has now been revealed to his holy apostles and prophets by ⁴  the Spirit,

From Paul ¹  and Timothy, slaves ²  of Christ Jesus, to all the saints in Christ Jesus who are in Philippi, ³  with the overseers ⁴  and deacons.

With flaming fire he will mete out ¹  punishment on those who do not know God ²  and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus.

By pointing out such things to the brothers and sisters, ¹  you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, having nourished yourself on the words of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. ² 

All is pure to those who are pure. But to those who are corrupt and unbelieving, nothing is pure, but both their minds and consciences are corrupted.

After God spoke long ago ¹  in various portions ²  and in various ways ³  to our ancestors ⁴  through the prophets,

Now the main point of what we are saying is this: ¹  We have such a high priest, one who sat down at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in heaven, ² 

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.

And you will be brought before governors and kings ¹  because of me, as a witness to them and the Gentiles.

How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”

Then he instructed his disciples not to tell anyone that he was the Christ. ¹ 

I brought him to your disciples, but ¹  they were not able to heal him.”

Now when the owner of the vineyard comes, what will he do to those tenants?”

They ¹  love the place of honor at banquets and the best seats in the synagogues ² 

I tell you the truth, ¹  the master ²  will put him in charge of all his possessions.

But the wise ones took flasks of olive oil with their lamps.
