They went out from us, but they did not really belong to us, because if they had belonged to us, they would have remained ¹  with us. But ²  they went out from us ³  to demonstrate ⁴  that all of them do not belong to us. ⁵ 

When ¹  Jesus heard this he said, “Those who are healthy don’t need a physician, but those who are sick do. ² 

He ¹  said to them, “Not everyone can accept this statement, except those to whom it has been given.

It must not be this way among you! Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels ¹  in heaven.

For nothing is hidden except to be revealed, ¹  and nothing concealed except to be brought to light.

but to sit at my right or at my left is not mine to give. It is for those for whom it has been prepared.” ¹ 

But it is not this way among you. Instead whoever wants to be great among you must be your servant,

For when they rise from the dead, they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels ¹  in heaven.

When you hear of wars and rumors of wars, do not be alarmed. These things must happen, but the end is still to come. ¹ 

Do you think I have come to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but rather division! ¹ 

Then ¹  the rich man ²  said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead ³  goes to them, they will repent.’

Neither did Herod, for he sent him back to us. Look, he has done nothing ¹  deserving death. ² 

– children not born ¹  by human parents ²  or by human desire ³  or a husband’s ⁴  decision, ⁵  but by God.

Some of them were wanting to seize him, but no one laid a hand on him. ¹ 

All who came before me were ¹  thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not listen to them. ² 

and not for the Jewish nation ¹  only, ²  but to gather together ³  into one the children of God who are scattered.) ⁴ 

Now this happened ¹  to fulfill the word that is written in their law, ‘They hated me without reason.’ ² 

I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but that you keep them safe ¹  from the evil one. ² 

But one of the soldiers pierced ¹  his side with a spear, and blood and water ²  flowed out immediately.
