For this reason the Jews seized me in the temple courts ¹  and were trying to kill me.

Agrippa ¹  said to Paul, “In such a short time are you persuading me to become a Christian?” ² 

Wretched man that I am! Who will rescue me from this body of death?

However, it is good ¹  to be sought eagerly ²  for a good purpose ³  at all times, and not only when I am present with you.

But when he arrived in Rome, ¹  he eagerly searched for me and found me.

Therefore if you regard me as a partner, accept him as you would me.

At that moment Jesus said to the crowd, “Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest me like you would an outlaw? ¹  Day after day I sat teaching in the temple courts, yet ²  you did not arrest me.

What did he mean by saying, ¹  ‘You will look for me ²  but will not find me, and where I am you cannot come’?”

The person who has my commandments and obeys ¹  them is the one who loves me. ²  The one ³  who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and will reveal ⁴  myself to him.”

The person who does not love me does not obey ¹  my words. And the word ²  you hear is not mine, but the Father’s who sent me.

Then some of his disciples said to one another, “What is the meaning of what he is saying, ¹  ‘In a little while you ²  will not see me; again after a little while, you ³  will see me,’ and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?” ⁴ 

Jesus could see ¹  that they wanted to ask him about these things, ²  so ³  he said to them, “Are you asking ⁴  each other about this – that I said, ‘In a little while you ⁵  will not see me; again after a little while, you ⁶  will see me’?

Now after all these things had taken place, ¹  Paul resolved ²  to go to Jerusalem, ³  passing through Macedonia ⁴  and Achaia. ⁵  He said, ⁶  “After I have been there, I must also see Rome.” ⁷ 

Then Paul said to him, “God is going to strike you, you whitewashed wall! ¹  Do ²  you sit there judging me according to the law, ³  and in violation of the law ⁴  you order me to be struck?”

When we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in Aramaic, ¹  ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? You are hurting yourself ²  by kicking against the goads.’ ³ 

And a leper ¹  approached, and bowed low before him, saying, ²  “Lord, if ³  you are willing, you can make me clean.”

“Whoever receives you receives me, and whoever receives me receives the one who sent me. ¹ 

But when he saw the strong wind he became afraid. And starting to sink, he cried out, ¹  “Lord, save me!”

‘This people honors me with their lips, but their heart ¹  is far from me,

But Jesus realized their evil intentions and said, “Hypocrites! Why are you testing me?
