“You must watch out for yourselves. You will be handed over ¹  to councils ²  and beaten in the synagogues. ³  You will stand before governors and kings ⁴  because of me, as a witness to them.

While they were at the table ¹  eating, Jesus said, “I tell you the truth, ²  one of you eating with me will betray me.” ³ 

He said, “Abba, ¹  Father, all things are possible for you. Take this cup ²  away from me. Yet not what I will, but what you will.”

But when Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus’ knees, saying, “Go away from me, Lord, ¹  for I am a sinful man!” ² 

For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, ¹  but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it.

“The one who listens ¹  to you listens to me, ²  and the one who rejects you rejects me, and the one who rejects me rejects ³  the one who sent me.” ⁴ 

Then ¹  someone from the crowd said to him, “Teacher, tell ²  my brother to divide the inheritance with me.”

“Father, if you are willing, take ¹  this cup ²  away from me. Yet not my will but yours ³  be done.”

And the Father who sent me has himself testified about me. You people ¹  have never heard his voice nor seen his form at any time, ² 

You study the scriptures thoroughly ¹  because you think in them you possess eternal life, ²  and it is these same scriptures ³  that testify about me,

And the one who sent me is with me. He has not left me alone, ¹  because I always do those things that please him.”

I am the door. If anyone enters through me, he will be saved, and will come in and go out, ¹  and find pasture. ² 

Jesus answered, “Will you lay down your life for me? ¹  I tell you the solemn truth, ²  the rooster will not crow until you have denied me three times!

Jesus replied, ¹  “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. ²  No one comes to the Father except through me.

Everything that the Father has is mine; that is why I said the Spirit ¹  will receive from me what is mine ²  and will tell it to you. ³ 

But Simon replied, ¹  “You pray to the Lord for me so that nothing of what you have said may happen to ²  me.”

and saw the Lord ¹  saying to me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’

For I will not dare to speak of anything except what Christ has accomplished through me in order to bring about the obedience ¹  of the Gentiles, by word and deed,

When you gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus, ¹  and I am with you in spirit, ²  along with the power of our Lord Jesus,

Pray ¹  for me also, that I may be given the message when I begin to speak ²  – that I may confidently make known ³  the mystery of the gospel,
