Open for me the gates of the just king’s temple! ¹  I will enter through them and give thanks to the Lord.

Another third of you will be stationed at the Foundation ¹  Gate. Still another third of you will be stationed at the gate behind the royal guard. ²  You will take turns guarding the palace. ³ 

On the outside of the inner gate were chambers for the singers of the inner court, one ¹  at the side of the north gate facing south, and the other at the side of the south ²  gate facing north.

When I went out to the city gate and secured my seat in the public square, ¹ 

Her gates will mourn and lament; deprived of her people, she will sit on the ground. ¹ 

Open the gates so a righteous nation can enter – one that remains trustworthy.

I will make your pinnacles out of gems, ¹  your gates out of beryl, ²  and your outer wall ³  out of beautiful ⁴  stones.

So the people went out and brought these things ¹  back and constructed temporary shelters for themselves, each on his roof and in his courtyard and in the courtyards of the temple ²  of God and in the plaza of the Water Gate and the plaza of the Ephraim Gate.
