Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his loyal love endures. ² 

to the one who performs magnificent, amazing deeds all by himself, for his loyal love endures,

to the one who spread out the earth over the water, for his loyal love endures,

to the one who struck down the firstborn of Egypt, for his loyal love endures,

to the one who divided ¹  the Red Sea ²  in two, ³  for his loyal love endures,

and led Israel through its midst, for his loyal love endures,

and tossed ¹  Pharaoh and his army into the Red Sea, for his loyal love endures,

to the one who led his people through the wilderness, for his loyal love endures,

to the one who remembered us when we were down, ¹  for his loyal love endures,

And you will be hated by everyone because of my name. But the one who endures to the end will be saved.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

For how can I watch the calamity that will befall my people, and how can I watch the destruction of my relatives?” ¹ 

He leans against his house but it does not hold up, ¹  he takes hold ²  of it but it does not stand.

He will not grow rich, and his wealth will not endure, nor will his possessions ¹  spread over the land.

“Nothing is left for him to devour; ¹  that is why his prosperity does not last. ² 

I will give him an eternal dynasty, ¹  and make his throne as enduring as the skies above. ² 

For the Lord is good. His loyal love endures, ¹  and he is faithful through all generations. ² 

for riches do not last ¹  forever, nor does a crown last ²  from generation to generation.

I am also aware ¹  that you have persisted steadfastly, ²  endured much for the sake of my name, and have not grown weary.

This requires ¹  the steadfast endurance ²  of the saints – those who obey ³  God’s commandments and hold to ⁴  their faith in Jesus. ⁵
