The canals ¹  will stink; ²  the streams of Egypt will trickle and then dry up; the bulrushes and reeds will decay,

Did you not dry up the sea, the waters of the great deep? Did you not make ¹  a path through the depths of the sea, so those delivered from bondage ²  could cross over?

A drought will come upon her land; her rivers and canals will be dried up. ¹  All of this will happen because her land is filled with idols. ²  Her people act like madmen because of ³  those idols they fear. ⁴ 

He made me walk all around among them. ¹  I realized ²  there were a great many bones in the valley and they were very dry.

Then he said to me, “Prophesy over these bones, and tell them: ‘Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.

Even the wild animals ¹  cry out to you; ²  for the river beds ³  have dried up; fire has destroyed ⁴  the grassy pastures. ⁵ 

By faith they crossed the Red Sea as if on dry ground, but when the Egyptians tried it, they were swallowed up.

He opened up a rock and water flowed out; a river ran through dry regions.

All the trees of the field will know that I am the Lord. I make the high tree low; I raise up the low tree. I make the green tree wither, and I make the dry tree sprout. I, the Lord, have spoken, and I will do it!’”

God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place ¹  and let dry ground appear.” ²  It was so.

God called the dry ground “land” ¹  and the gathered waters he called “seas.” God saw that it was good.

This bread of ours was warm when we packed it in our homes the day we started out to meet you, ¹  but now it is dry and hard. ² 

Samson said to her, “If they tie me up with seven fresh ¹  bowstrings ²  that have not been dried, I will become weak and be just like any other man.”

You split the sea before them, and they crossed through ¹  the sea on dry ground! But you threw their pursuers ²  into the depths, like a stone into surging ³  waters.

Surely they will be totally consumed ¹  like ²  entangled thorn bushes, ³  like the drink of drunkards, ⁴  like very ⁵  dry stubble.

Moreover, the Lord who rules over all says: ‘In just a little while ¹  I will once again shake the sky ²  and the earth, the sea and the dry ground.

But now we ¹  are dried up, ²  and there is nothing at all before us ³  except this manna!”

along with the plants by the mouth of the river. ¹  All the cultivated land near the river will turn to dust and be blown away. ² 

So the rulers of the Philistines brought her seven fresh bowstrings which had not been dried and they tied him up with them.

I dug wells and drank water in foreign lands. ¹  With the soles of my feet I dried up all the rivers of Egypt.’
