No one denounces his conduct to his face; no one repays him for what ¹  he has done. ² 

For all of them, ¹  the morning is to them like deep darkness; they are friends with the terrors of darkness.

Violent men perjure themselves, ¹  and falsely accuse me. ² 

For my sins overwhelm me; ¹  like a heavy load, they are too much for me to bear.

They spew out threats ¹  and speak defiantly; all the evildoers boast. ² 

They repay my love with accusations, ¹  but I continue to pray. ² 

The wicked ¹  will be captured by his ²  own iniquities, ³  and he will be held ⁴  by the cords of his own sin. ⁵ 

The one who mocks the poor ¹  insults ²  his Creator; whoever rejoices over disaster will not go unpunished.

It is terrible ¹  to punish ²  a righteous person, and to flog ³  honorable men is wrong. ⁴ 

The way of the guilty person ¹  is devious, ²  but as for the pure, ³  his way is upright.

One who digs a pit may ¹  fall into it, and one who breaks through a wall may be bitten by a snake. ² 

At the beginning his words ¹  are foolish and at the end ²  his talk ³  is wicked madness, ⁴ 

“‘See how each of the princes of Israel living within you has used his authority to shed blood. ¹ 

They have sunk deep into corruption ¹  as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their wrongdoing. He will repay them for their sins.

I will avenge ¹  their blood which I had not previously acquitted. It is the Lord who dwells in Zion!

Above ¹  his head they put the charge against him, ²  which read: ³  “This is Jesus, the king of the Jews.”

Then ¹  Pilate said to the chief priests and the crowds, “I find no basis for an accusation ²  against this man.”

For it seems unreasonable to me to send a prisoner without clearly indicating ¹  the charges against him.”

When ¹  they had heard my case, ²  they wanted to release me, ³  because there was no basis for a death sentence ⁴  against me.

“Blessed ¹  are those whose lawless deeds are forgiven, and whose sins are covered;
