When you go out to do battle with your enemies and the Lord your God allows you to prevail ¹  and you take prisoners,

who had been taken into exile from Jerusalem ¹  with the captives who had been carried into exile with Jeconiah ²  king of Judah, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had taken into exile.

Your head crowns ¹  you like Mount Carmel. ²  The locks of your hair ³  are like royal tapestries ⁴  – the king is held captive ⁵  in its tresses!

My judgment will carry off all your leaders like a storm wind! ¹  Your allies will go into captivity. Then you will certainly ²  be disgraced and put to shame because of all the wickedness you have done.

Jehozadak went into exile when the Lord sent the people of ¹  Judah and Jerusalem into exile by the hand of Nebuchadnezzar.

A song of ascents. ²  When the Lord restored the well-being of Zion, ³  we thought we were dreaming. ⁴ 

Here is the official record of the number of people ¹  Nebuchadnezzar carried into exile: In the seventh year, ²  3,023 Jews;

“Any of you who has killed anyone or touched any of the dead, remain outside the camp for seven days; purify yourselves and your captives on the third day, and on the seventh day.
