But he added, “You cannot see my face, for no one can ¹  see me and live.” ² 

This is the law of the one in whom there is a diseased infection, ¹  who does not have sufficient means for his purification.” ² 

Is there any falsehood ¹  on my lips? Can my mouth ²  not discern evil things? ³ 

“If I go to the east, he is not there, and to the west, yet I do not perceive him.

Neither gold nor crystal ¹  can be compared with it, nor can a vase ²  of gold match its worth.

May their eyes be blinded! ¹  Make them shake violently! ² 

You held my eyelids open; ¹  I was troubled and could not speak. ² 

Your knowledge is beyond my comprehension; it is so far beyond me, I am unable to fathom it. ¹ 

Another ¹  said, ‘I just got married, and I cannot come.’ ² 

“I have many more things to say to you, ¹  but you cannot bear ²  them now.

But we replied, ‘We cannot go down there. ¹  If our youngest brother is with us, then we will go, ²  for we won’t be permitted to see the man’s face if our youngest brother is not with us.’

We said to my lord, ‘The boy cannot leave his father. If he leaves his father, his father ¹  will die.’ ² 

“God does not really live on the earth! ¹  Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

“God does not really live with humankind on the earth! ¹  Look, if the sky and the highest heaven cannot contain you, how much less this temple I have built!

and ears, but cannot hear. Indeed, they cannot breathe. ¹ 

No one ¹  can be established ²  through wickedness, but a righteous root ³  cannot be moved.

ג (Gimel) He has walled me in ¹  so that I cannot get out; he has weighted me down with heavy prison chains. ² 

If those people to whom the word of God came were called ‘gods’ (and the scripture cannot be broken), ¹ 

Now some men came down from Judea ¹  and began to teach the brothers, “Unless you are circumcised ²  according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved.”

Now this is what I am saying, brothers and sisters: ¹  Flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.
