¹ O Lord, reflect on ²  what has happened to us; consider ³  and look at ⁴  our disgrace.

Yet I will remember the covenant I made with you in the days of your youth, and I will establish a lasting ¹  covenant with you.

But you, dear friends – recall the predictions ¹  foretold by the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ. ² 

because her sins have piled ¹  up all the way to heaven ²  and God has remembered ³  her crimes. ⁴ 

Do not hold against me ¹  the sins of my youth ²  or my rebellious acts! Because you are faithful to me, extend to me your favor, O Lord! ³ 

For he will never be upended; others will always remember one who is just. ¹ 

“Don’t remember these earlier events; ¹  don’t recall these former events.

I ¹  continually think about ²  this, and I ³  am depressed. ⁴ 

Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed, ¹ 

May he take notice ¹  of your offerings; may he accept ²  your burnt sacrifice! (Selah)

Remember ¹  your compassionate and faithful deeds, O Lord, for you have always acted in this manner. ² 

I said, “I will remember God while I groan; I will think about him while my strength leaves me.” ¹  (Selah)

Recall the miraculous deeds he performed, his mighty acts and the judgments he decreed, ¹ 

He always remembers his covenantal decree, the promise he made ¹  to a thousand generations –

May his ancestors’ ¹  sins be remembered by the Lord! May his mother’s sin not be forgotten! ² 

I remember your name during the night, O Lord, and I will keep ¹  your law.

Remember this, so you can be brave! ¹  Think about it, you rebels! ² 

Their children are always thinking about ¹  their ²  altars and their sacred poles dedicated to the goddess Asherah, ³  set up beside the green trees on the high hills

They have sunk deep into corruption ¹  as in the days of Gibeah. He will remember their wrongdoing. He will repay them for their sins.

For, when I think ¹  about this, I am terrified ²  and my body feels a shudder. ³
