So for me, it is a minor matter that I am judged by you or by any human court. In fact, I do not even judge myself.

So if you have ordinary lawsuits, do you appoint as judges those who have no standing in the church? ¹ 

Now if Christ is being preached as raised from the dead, ¹  how can some of you say there is no resurrection of the dead?

And if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is futile and your faith is empty.

For I do not want to see you now in passing, since I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord allows.

Make room for us in your hearts; ¹  we have wronged no one, we have ruined no one, ²  we have exploited no one. ³ 

But the scripture imprisoned ¹  everything and everyone ²  under sin so that the promise could be given – because of the faithfulness ³  of Jesus Christ – to those who believe.

I am confident ¹  in the Lord that you will accept no other view. ²  But the one who is confusing ³  you will pay the penalty, ⁴  whoever he may be.

For this reason, ¹  because I ²  have heard ³  of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love ⁴  for all the saints,

and what is the incomparable ¹  greatness of his power toward ²  us who believe, as displayed in ³  the exercise of his immense strength. ⁴ 

For by grace you are saved ¹  through faith, ²  and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God;

that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, so that, because you have been rooted and grounded in love,

and most of the brothers and sisters, ¹  having confidence in the Lord ²  because of my imprisonment, now more than ever ³  dare to speak the word ⁴  fearlessly.

– though mine too are significant. ¹  If someone thinks he has good reasons to put confidence in human credentials, ²  I have more:

Having been buried with him in baptism, you also have been raised with him through your ¹  faith in the power ²  of God who raised him from the dead.

Tychicus, a dear brother, faithful minister, and fellow slave ¹  in the Lord, will tell you all the news about me. ² 

I sent him ¹  with Onesimus, the faithful and dear brother, who is one of you. ²  They will tell ³  you about everything here.

but just as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, so we declare it, not to please people but God, who examines our hearts.

You are witnesses, and so is God, as to how holy and righteous and blameless our conduct was toward you who believe.

So ¹  in all our distress and affliction, we were reassured about you, brothers and sisters, ²  through your faith.
