When the angel who had spoken to him departed, Cornelius ¹  called two of his personal servants ²  and a devout soldier from among those who served him, ³ 

And David says, “Let their table become a snare and trap, a stumbling block and a retribution for them;

to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. I serve ¹  the gospel of God ²  like a priest, so that the Gentiles may become an acceptable offering, ³  sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

I am saying this for your benefit, not to place a limitation on you, but so that without distraction you may give notable and constant service to the Lord.

Slaves, ¹  obey your human masters ²  with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart as to Christ,

I became a servant of the church according to the stewardship ¹  from God – given to me for you – in order to complete ²  the word of God,

No one in military service gets entangled in matters of everyday life; otherwise he will not please ¹  the one who recruited him.

I wanted to keep him so that he could serve me in your place ¹  during ²  my imprisonment for the sake of the gospel. ³ 

So since we are receiving an unshakable kingdom, let us give thanks, and through this let us offer worship pleasing to God in devotion and awe.

As his father David had decreed, Solomon ¹  appointed the divisions of the priests to do their assigned tasks, the Levitical orders to lead worship and help the priests with their daily tasks, ²  and the divisions of the gatekeepers to serve at their assigned gates. ³  This was what David the man of God had ordered. ⁴ 

I for my part will stay at Mizpah to represent you before the Babylonians ¹  whenever they come to us. You for your part go ahead and harvest the wine, the dates, the figs, ²  and the olive oil, and store them in jars. Go ahead and settle down in the towns that you have taken over.” ³ 

But God turned away from them and gave them over ¹  to worship the host ²  of heaven, as it is written in the book of the prophets: ‘It was not to me that you offered slain animals and sacrifices ³  forty years in the wilderness, was it, ⁴  house of Israel?

So now, come, let’s make a formal agreement, ¹  you and I, and it will be ²  proof that we have made peace.” ³ 

The Lord was with Joseph. He was successful ¹  and lived ²  in the household of his Egyptian master.

the woven garments, the holy garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons, to minister as priests,

Whenever they entered ¹  the tent of meeting, and whenever they approached ²  the altar, they would wash, ³  just as the Lord had commanded Moses.

They are responsible for his needs ¹  and the needs of the whole community before the tent of meeting, by attending ²  to the service of the tabernacle.

But Moses was furious with the officers of the army, the commanders over thousands and commanders over hundreds, who had come from service in the war.

From the Israelites’ half-share that Moses had separated from the fighting men, ¹ 

You are to have a place outside the camp to serve as a latrine. ¹
