The waters kept on receding ¹  until the tenth month. On the first day of the tenth month, the tops of the mountains became visible. ² 

Abram traveled through the land as far as the oak tree ¹  of Moreh ²  at Shechem. ³  (At that time the Canaanites were in the land.) ⁴ 

“I do not know who has done this thing,” Abimelech replied. “Moreover, ¹  you did not tell me. I did not hear about it until today.”

When she had done so, ¹  she said, “I’ll draw water for your camels too, until they have drunk as much as they want.”

When food was served, ¹  he said, “I will not eat until I have said what I want to say.” ²  “Tell us,” Laban said. ³ 

Then the man ¹  said, “Let me go, for the dawn is breaking.” ²  “I will not let you go,” Jacob replied, ³  “unless you bless me.” ⁴ 

But Jacob ¹  himself went on ahead of them, and he bowed toward the ground seven times as he approached ²  his brother.

When ¹  Jacob heard that Shechem ²  had violated his daughter Dinah, his sons were with the livestock in the field. So Jacob remained silent ³  until they came in.

This food should be held in storage for the land in preparation for the seven years of famine that will occur throughout the land of Egypt. In this way the land will survive the famine.” ¹ 

You will be tested in this way: As surely as Pharaoh lives, ¹  you will not depart from this place unless your youngest brother comes here.

The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between his feet, ¹  until he comes to whom it belongs; ²  the nations will obey him. ³ 

But the more the Egyptians ¹  oppressed them, the more they multiplied and spread. ²  As a result the Egyptians loathed ³  the Israelites,

You must care for it ¹  until the fourteenth day of this month, and then the whole community ²  of Israel will kill it around sundown. ³ 

In the first month, ¹  from the fourteenth day of the month, in the evening, you will eat bread made without yeast until the twenty-first day of the month in the evening.

“You must not offer ¹  the blood of my sacrifice with bread containing yeast; the fat of my festal sacrifice must not remain until morning. ² 

Little by little ¹  I will drive them out before you, until you become fruitful and inherit the land.

When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and will cover ¹  you with my hand ²  while I pass by. ³ 

“You must not offer the blood of my sacrifice with yeast; the sacrifice from the feast of Passover must not remain until the following morning. ¹ 

When the Israelites would see ¹  the face of Moses, that ²  the skin of Moses’ face shone, Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with the Lord. ³ 

And you must not go out from the entrance of the Meeting Tent for seven days, until the day when your days of ordination are completed, because you must be ordained over a seven-day period. ¹
