Pilate also had a notice ¹  written and fastened to the cross, ²  which read: ³  “Jesus the Nazarene, the king of the Jews.”

Then they took Jesus’ body and wrapped it, with the aromatic spices, ¹  in strips of linen cloth ²  according to Jewish burial customs. ³ 

I wrote ¹  the former ²  account, ³  Theophilus, ⁴  about all that Jesus began to do and teach

so that times of refreshing ¹  may come from the presence of the Lord, ²  and so that he may send the Messiah ³  appointed ⁴  for you – that is, Jesus.

Before ¹  Jesus ²  arrived, John ³  had proclaimed a baptism for repentance ⁴  to all the people of Israel.

So do what ¹  we tell you: We have four men ²  who have taken ³  a vow; ⁴ 

What do you want? Shall I come to you with a rod of discipline ¹  or with love and a spirit of gentleness?

to equip ¹  the saints for the work of ministry, that is, ²  to build up the body of Christ,

that the person dedicated to God ¹  may be capable ²  and equipped for every good work.

Remind them to be subject to rulers and ¹  authorities, to be obedient, to be ready for every good work.

This is how you are to eat it – dressed to travel, ¹  your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand. You are to eat it in haste. It is the Lord’s Passover. ² 

The second bird ¹  he must make a burnt offering according to the standard regulation. ²  So the priest will make atonement ³  on behalf of this person for ⁴  his sin which he has committed, and he will be forgiven. ⁵ 

Then Moses spoke to Aaron and to Eleazar and Ithamar, his remaining sons, “Take the grain offering which remains from the gifts of the Lord and eat it unleavened beside the altar, for it is most holy.

And the second lamb you must offer in the late afternoon; just as you offered the grain offering and drink offering in the morning, ¹  you must offer it as an offering made by fire, as a pleasing aroma to the Lord.

Their grain offering must be of finely ground flour mixed with olive oil, three-tenths of an ephah for each of the thirteen bulls, two-tenths of an ephah for each of the two rams,

Make my son Solomon willing to obey your commands, rules, and regulations, and to complete building the palace for which I have made preparations.” ¹ 

The Lord who commands armies will hold a banquet for all the nations on this mountain. ¹  At this banquet there will be plenty of meat and aged wine – tender meat and choicest wine. ² 

His sons ¹  will wage war, mustering a large army which will advance like an overflowing river and carrying the battle all the way to the enemy’s ²  fortress. ³ 

So let us acknowledge him! ¹  Let us seek ²  to acknowledge ³  the Lord! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”

There the fire will consume ¹  you; the sword will cut you down; it will devour ²  you like the young locust would.Multiply yourself ³  like the young locust; multiply yourself like the flying locust!
