I am like an owl ¹  in the wilderness; I am like a screech owl ²  among the ruins. ³ 

In the wilderness they had an insatiable craving ¹  for meat; ²  they challenged God ³  in the desert.

Now it is planted in the wilderness, in a dry and thirsty land. ¹ 

“‘So I brought them out of the land of Egypt and led them to the wilderness.

In those days John the Baptist came into the wilderness ¹  of Judea proclaiming,

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness ¹  to be tempted by the devil.

The Spirit immediately drove him into the wilderness.

They traveled from the desert of Sinai and camped at Kibroth Hattaavah.

They took all the Amorite territory from the Arnon River on the south to the Jabbok River on the north, from the desert in the east to the Jordan in the west. ¹ 

The pastures in the wilderness glisten with moisture, ¹  and the hills are clothed with joy. ² 

Justice will settle down in the desert and fairness will live in the orchard. ¹ 

Let the desert and dry region be happy; ¹  let the wilderness ²  rejoice and bloom like a lily!

just as the Lord had commanded Moses. And so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.

So they went up and investigated the land from the wilderness of Zin to Rehob, ¹  at the entrance of Hamath. ² 

When the Israelites were ¹  in the wilderness they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. ²

He broke open rocks in the wilderness, and gave them enough water to fill the depths of the sea. ¹
