“Whoever kills any person, the murderer must be put to death by the testimony ¹  of witnesses; but one witness cannot ²  testify against any person to cause him to be put to death.

Demetrius ¹  has been testified to by all, even by the truth itself. We also testify to him, ²  and you know that our testimony is true.

Now ¹  this was ²  John’s ³  testimony ⁴  when the Jewish leaders ⁵  sent ⁶  priests and Levites from Jerusalem ⁷  to ask him, “Who are you?” ⁸ 

This is the disciple who testifies about these things and has written these things, and we know that his testimony is true.

And this is the testimony: God ¹  has given us eternal life, ²  and this life is in his Son.

(The one who believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself; the one who does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has testified concerning his Son.) ¹ 

I rejoice in the lifestyle prescribed by your rules ¹  as if ²  they were riches of all kinds. ³ 

Spare me ¹  shame and humiliation, for I observe your rules.

Yes, I find delight in your rules; they give me guidance. ¹ 

Give me a desire for your rules, ¹  rather than for wealth gained unjustly. ² 

I will speak ¹  about your regulations before kings and not be ashamed.

I consider my actions ¹  and follow ²  your rules.

The rules you impose are just, ¹  and absolutely reliable.

I keep your rules; I love them greatly.
