The angelic messenger ¹  who had been speaking with me then returned and woke me, as a person is wakened from sleep.

Neither should there be vulgar speech, foolish talk, or coarse jesting – all of which are out of character – but rather thanksgiving.

Then God went up from the place ¹  where he spoke with him.

As they were walking along and talking, suddenly a fiery chariot ¹  pulled by fiery horses appeared. ²  They went between Elijah and Elisha, ³  and Elijah went up to heaven in a windstorm.

Now the king was talking to Gehazi, the prophet’s ¹  servant, and said, “Tell me all the great things which Elisha has done.”

But Moses called to them, so Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and Moses spoke to them.

Remove perverse speech ¹  from your mouth; ²  keep devious talk far from your lips. ³ 

While ¹  they were talking and debating ²  these things, ³  Jesus himself approached and began to accompany them

As he was speaking with them, the champion named Goliath, the Philistine from Gath, was coming up from the battle lines of the Philistines. He spoke the way he usually did, ¹  and David heard it.

While they were still speaking with him, the king’s eunuchs arrived. They quickly brought Haman to the banquet that Esther had prepared.

While ¹  you are still there speaking to the king, I will arrive ²  and verify your report.” ³ 

At this point the angelic messenger ¹  who spoke to me went out, and another messenger came to meet him

He replied, “Don’t you know what these are?” So I responded, “No, sir.”

But he denied it in front of them all: ¹  “I don’t know what you’re talking about!”

(Now Jesus had been talking about ¹  his death, but they ²  thought he had been talking about real sleep.) ³ 

Some have strayed from these and turned away to empty discussion.

Slaves ¹  are to be subject to their own masters in everything, ²  to do what is wanted and not talk back,

Now at that very moment his disciples came back. ¹  They were shocked ²  because he was speaking ³  with a woman. However, no one said, “What do you want?” ⁴  or “Why are you speaking with her?”

Abram bowed down with his face to the ground, ¹  and God said to him, ² 

While ¹  Saul spoke to the priest, the panic in the Philistines’ camp was becoming greater and greater. So Saul said to the priest, “Withdraw your hand!”
