You will perish among the nations; the land of your enemies will consume you.

Call to mind now: ¹  Who, ²  being innocent, ever perished? ³  And where were upright people ⁴  ever destroyed? ⁵ 

Caravans ¹  turn aside from their routes; they go ²  into the wasteland ³  and perish. ⁴ 

Indeed, ¹  look at your enemies, O Lord! Indeed, ²  look at how your enemies perish! All the evildoers are scattered!

Indeed, ¹  nations or kingdoms that do not serve you will perish; such nations will be totally destroyed. ² 

No, I tell you! But unless you repent, ¹  you will all perish as well! ² 

No, I tell you! But unless you repent ¹  you will all perish as well!” ² 

For we are a sweet aroma of Christ to God among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing –

“Let the day on which ¹  I was born ²  perish, and the night that said, ³  ‘A man ⁴  has been conceived!’ ⁵ 

They are destroyed ¹  between morning and evening; ²  they perish forever ³  without anyone regarding it. ⁴ 

If I have seen anyone about to perish for lack of clothing, or a poor man without a coat,

but, despite their wealth, people do not last, ¹  they are like animals ²  that perish. ³ 

Wealthy people do not understand; ¹  they are like animals ²  that perish. ³ 

Yes, ¹  look! Those far from you ²  die; you destroy everyone who is unfaithful to you. ³ 

It is burned ¹  and cut down. They die because you are displeased with them. ² 

When the righteous do well, ¹  the city rejoices; ²  when the wicked perish, there is joy.

When the wicked gain control, ¹  people ²  hide themselves, ³  but when they perish, ⁴  the righteous increase.

For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

For this perishable body must put on the imperishable, and this mortal body must put on immortality.

But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled only to those who are perishing,
