Its jambs ¹  faced the outer court, and it had decorative palm trees on its jambs, on either side, and its stairway had eight steps.

On the doors of the outer sanctuary were carved cherubim and palm trees, like those carved on the walls, and there was a canopy ¹  of wood on the front of the outside porch.

There were narrow windows and decorative palm trees on either side of the side walls of the porch; this is what the side chambers of the temple and the canopies were like.

So they took branches of palm trees ¹  and went out to meet him. They began to shout, ²  “Hosanna! ³  Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord! ⁴  Blessed is ⁵  the king of Israel!”

After these things I looked, and here was ¹  an enormous crowd that no one could count, made up of persons from every nation, tribe, ²  people, and language, standing before the throne and before the Lamb dressed in long white robes, and with palm branches in their hands.
