When they came to the place God had told him about, Abraham built the altar there ¹  and arranged the wood on it. Next he tied up ²  his son Isaac and placed him on the altar on top of the wood.

The altar was of wood, 5¼ feet ¹  high, with its length 3½ feet; ²  its corners, its length, ³  and its walls were of wood. He said to me, “This is the table that is before the Lord.”

“You are to make bars of acacia wood, five for the frames on one side of the tabernacle,

You are to make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and you are to overlay them with bronze.

¹ “You are to make an altar for burning incense; ²  you are to make it of ³  acacia wood. ⁴ 

and with cutting and setting stone, and with cutting wood, to work in all kinds of craftsmanship.

and in cutting stones for their setting, ¹  and in cutting wood, to do work in every artistic craft. ² 

and the sons of Aaron, the priest, ¹  must put fire on the altar and arrange wood on the fire.

When the Israelites were ¹  in the wilderness they found a man gathering wood on the Sabbath day. ² 

Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and to the whole community.

There you will worship gods made by human hands – wood and stone that can neither see, hear, eat, nor smell.

your infants, your wives, and the ¹  foreigners living in your encampment, those who chop wood and those who carry water –

Where there is no wood, a fire goes out, and where there is no gossip, ¹  contention ceases. ² 

Like charcoal is to burning coals, and wood to fire, so is a contentious person ¹  to kindle strife. ² 

We must pay money ¹  for our own water; ²  we must buy our own wood at a steep price. ³ 

As they drank wine, they praised the gods of gold and silver, bronze, iron, wood, and stone.

For if such things are done ¹  when the wood is green, what will happen when it is dry?” ² 

Make ¹  for yourself an ark of cypress ²  wood. Make rooms in the ark, and cover ³  it with pitch inside and out.

You are to make the poles of acacia wood and overlay them with gold, so that the table may be carried with them. ¹ 

You are to hang it ¹  with gold hooks ²  on four posts of acacia wood overlaid with gold, set in ³  four silver bases.
