then he looked at wisdom ¹  and assessed its value; ²  he established ³  it and examined it closely. ⁴ 

I said to myself, ‘Age ¹  should speak, ²  and length of years ³  should make wisdom known.’

So do not say, ¹  ‘We have found wisdom! God will refute ²  him, not man!’

If not, you listen to me; be silent, and I will teach you wisdom.”

Who has put wisdom in the heart, ¹  or has imparted understanding to the mind?

For God deprived her of wisdom, and did not impart understanding to her.

Look, ¹  you desire ²  integrity in the inner man; ³  you want me to possess wisdom. ⁴ 

I will sing a song that imparts wisdom; I will make insightful observations about the past. ¹ 

to the one who used wisdom to make the heavens, for his loyal love endures,

Our Lord is great and has awesome power; ¹  there is no limit to his wisdom. ² 

To ¹  learn ²  wisdom ³  and moral instruction, ⁴  and to discern ⁵  wise counsel. ⁶ 

Fearing the Lord ¹  is the beginning ²  of moral knowledge, ³  but ⁴  fools ⁵  despise ⁶  wisdom and instruction. ⁷ 

Wisdom ¹  calls out ²  in the street, she shouts loudly ³  in the plazas; ⁴ 

by making ¹  your ear ²  attentive to wisdom, and ³  by turning ⁴  your heart ⁵  to understanding,

For ¹  the Lord gives ²  wisdom, and from his mouth ³  comes ⁴  knowledge and understanding.

For wisdom will enter your heart, ¹  and moral knowledge ²  will be attractive ³  to you. ⁴ 

Blessed ¹  is the one ²  who finds ³  wisdom, and the one who obtains ⁴  understanding.

By wisdom the Lord laid the foundation of the earth; ¹  he established the heavens by understanding. ² 

My child, do not let them ¹  escape from your sight; safeguard sound wisdom and discretion. ² 

Do not forsake wisdom, ¹  and she will protect you; love her, and she will guard you.
